On January 14, 2024, a significant community event took place in Scottsdale, Arizona, to mark the 100th day of the ongoing Israeli hostage crisis in Gaza. The event was a bike ride held at the grassy area between Scottsdale Civic Center and Library. This ride was part of a global movement of solidarity. Participants gathered at 11 am to decorate their bikes, with the ride commencing at 11:30 am. The route covered the Mountain Vista Bike Route, a 2.3-mile loop that was suitable for families and children. Participants were encouraged to wear black or “Bring Them Home” shirts and to carry Israeli and American flags. They were also provided with large yellow sleeves as a symbol of solidarity. The event concluded with the singing of Hatikva, the national anthem of Israel. To broaden the impact, those unable to attend were encouraged to organize their own group rides, with organizers offering to supply yellow ribbons, flags, and other materials. The event was not only a show of support but also a call for action, urging every bike rider to tie a yellow ribbon to their bike. The hashtag #RideToBringThemHomeNow was used for sharing pictures from the event, which had robust security arrangements to ensure the safety of all participants.
